Richard Sanz is one of Spains most talented wine makers; and this comes as no surprise given the familys long local history. Having been virtually weaned on wine and in the thick of things (the handson Sanz family have for many years also had interests large and small in neighbouring Toro and nearby Ribera Duero) since an early age he honed his practical skills in Bordeaux and his theory in Madrid and was for more than a decade the winemaking dynamo at father Antonios highly successful and influential Cuevas de Castilla. Three years ago however and still only in his early thirties together with viticulturalist brother Marco and sister Sandra
