Moreno Wines had a great day at The Definitive Italian Wine Tasting (the biggest exclusively Italian wine tasting in the UK) which took place on 8th July in London, Showing a new italian portfolio.

Rebecca Gibb chose “Surani Pietrariccia” as the wine of the week and wrote in her website: “After having tasted a lot of not-so-impressive Fianos 2008 Surani Pietrariccia, Fiano, Salento IGT gave me everything I want in a Fiano”:

“On the nose, this has attractive white peach, almond and lemon notes, It has lovely concentration, the alcohol is well balanced with fresh acidity on the finish and at a decent price. When I found out it was only £9.99, I said bloody hell, that's cheap”

She writes regularly for Decanter, Harpers Wine and Spirit, Drinks International, Restaurant, Just-Drinks.com and, Food and Travel Magazine. In 2006, she was Young Wine Writer of the Year and she is now one of the youngest Master of Wine students in the world.

La Báscula wines

We are very proud to present our new wines from La Báscula , a range of Spanish wines from Jumilla, Rioja, Catalonia and an exquisite dessert wine from near Alicante.

Their philosophy is small volumes and really high quality; we believe all the wines represent excellent value for money and really show off the areas they come from.

La Báscula project came about as a result of the partnership between Ed Adams MW and Bruce Jack. Their common aim is balance and “a shared vision of balance and authenticity”.

La Báscula has two meanings in Spanish: - either it’s an old fashioned weighing scales or a large weighbridge for lorries. When deciding what to call their new Spanish wine range Ed Adams MW and Bruce Jack chose the first definition on the basis that a weighbridge would not look so good on a wine label.

Moreno Wines has become one of the wine suppliers for the famous ITV1 show Hell’s Kitchen, managed and directed by the three Michelin star chef Marco Pierre White.

He’s known as much for his quick temper as for his exceptional skills as a chef. So we can expect him to offer some tips and the best way to enjoy his food with our wine.

This is a surprisingly addictive TV competition with a lot of celebrities involved: Anthea Turner, Adrian Edmonson, Linda Evans, etc.

If you attended, whalst you waited for your food, you were drinking some of our wines, Quintay Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, the excelent Sabina Rosado from Navarra, and again from Chile the rather fine Viluca Cabernet Reserva! We hope it made the wait easer! (and the food was good when it came!)

Watch it on ITV1 or click the link below.
